Cosmo Twist


Apparently October 4th is National Vodka Day in the States, so I’m celebrating with them with this twist on the traditional Cosmopolitan, one of the most popular vodka-based cocktails.

Starting with Absolut Raspberri Vodka, I replaced the traditional Cointreau with Chambord, a liquer made from black raspberries and vanilla; the juice of freshly squeezed passionfruit replaced cranberry juice and pink grapefruit juice took the place of lime. It’s a beautiful and unusual combination of flavours, with the tart grapefruit cutting through the sweetness of the Chambord and passionfruit. This would be a great drink to serve at a party or at a wedding reception.

To make a Cosmo Twist, you will need:

  • 2 shots Absolut Raspberri Vodka
  • 1 shot Chambord
  • the juice of one freshly squeezed and deseeded passionfruit
  •  1/2 shot of grapefruit juiceFirst things first; chill your glass (preferably a martini glass) by filling it with ice or placing it in a freezer for a few minutes. Next, measure all ingredients in to a cocktail shaker along with a handful of ice. Secure lid of cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds, then strain into your chilled (emptied) glass. Sit back, relax and schlurp.
